Writing is an outlet for me. An outlet for my own experiences as well as how I can process what I see happening around me. Sometimes the words are personal, other times they reflect what I hear someone else saying. Last night I wrote this poem to try to express combination of emotions from my own life as well as the struggles of others.
Words swirl around me
Too much to take in
Feeling lonely in a crowd
Desperately needing a hug
Invisible
Standing on the side
Helpless
Yet needing community
The news came so quickly
So much to take in
Need someone to reassure me
Remind me of Jesus' love
Nervous
Not ready for this
Anxious
But trying to trust
