A thousand words

A picture is worth a thousand words right?  Well I'm going to provide pictures and a few words, definitely not a thousand though. :-)  So here's a photographic look at the past month.

After a routine appointment with my OB, I was sent to a dermatologist to check two spots checked out....one on my leg and one on my armpit.  On Jan 29th, they performed biopsies of both spots.  A week later on Feb 4th, they informed me that I had a malignant melanoma and would need immediate surgery.  It was suggested that I name my spot "M&M"....hence my first picture.....

I got to see the large chunk they removed from my leg and watched as they put on the skin graft....total awesomeness!!!!  After surgery (including a skin graft) on Feb 5th, I was blessed with a steady stream of visitors.  My brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Cha, came to visit on Feb 7-8.  They brought me this awesome frog from my niece Ashley.....

As you can see, Matthew was hard at work helping me....

On Feb 11th, they finally uncovered my leg wound and I got to see the awesomeness.....

While recovering, I was provided with this rainbow headband to remind me of God's promises.

My friend Katie's mom sent us these eyeball rings as a "healing gift"....

You just can't go wrong with putting stuff on your head....it's bound to bring a smile to your face....

Sunday, March 3rd....one month post surgery, here's the latest look at my leg.  For the first time, I actually think it's looking good.  Granted it doesn't always feel good, but it's looking better.

What a journey....two surgeries to go on March 4th and 12th.  God is good.  He has been with me this whole time.

I am learning to slow down.
Enjoying life at a slower pace.
Trying to listen to Him.
Letting go of fear.
Resisting the lies of the enemy.
Soaking in His truth.
Praise God for His healing mercy.

I am cancer free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
