Respect

Someone that I respect very much told me this week that he hadn't felt respected by me over the past week. I immediately felt terrible. As I searched my heart for wrong motives and desires, I found myself thinking a lot about respect. What does it mean to respect someone? What does it look life? If you believe you respect someone but they don't sense it, do you truly respect that person? Perhaps we have different understandings of what it means to show respect. More likely, I just didn't realize that my actions and words simply weren't respectful. I will have to be more and more reliant on Christ as I move through this tough season in my life where I am learning, growing and being stretched.
